These annual elections decide which members comprise the NTA Committee [Officers and Delegates]. You were informed of the time table in your July 2006 NEWSLETTER. Look out for the voting forms which will arrive at your home address in November 2006. Don't forget to use your vote.

I am the Secretary of Newham Teachers' Association (NTA). The Association is Newham's branch of the National Union of Teachers. Officers of the NTA are elected each year. I have been elected each year since 1992. The NTA exists to support its members. As a teacher, I worked in the UK and abroad before becoming Secretary of the NTA. In my view, teachers need to participate actively in our Association to ensure that it reflects their views. I am actively involved in the Trade Union movement. My commitment to equal opportunities issues has been consistent throughout my working life. I have received recognition for my service in the field of human rights.
