NUT Calls Strike Ballot
On hearing that there is to be a strike ballot I issued the following comment for public release:
“Its official and I welcome the Union’s decision to ballot our members for strike action to oppose the pay cut. I am confident our members’ will recognise that if we don’t do anything about it now, three years down the road we will be in the same situation as the mid 1980s. It’s time to lead the fight to improve pay for public-sector workers to maintain and improve their standard of living. The fat cats have had their way for too long.”
I am sure many members will share these feelings. We must work together to ensure that the government hears our views.
Best wishes,
Peter Smith
